Meet Our Team

Coach Abbie started gymnastics at Win Kids when she was 8 years old and competed her last season as an Xcel Platinum athlete. After her last season as a gymnast her passion for gymnastics continued to grow and she decided to pursue coaching. She is currently working in the recreational program and competitive team program. Her favorite part of her job is getting to watch the children become more confident in their abilities as gymnasts and being able to watch that every step of the way.

Then my freshman year of High school I joined Bryan High Schools Gymnastics Team. After high school I transitioned to TaeKwonDo. Two weeks after I started TaeKwonDo I competed in my first tournament as a white belt. Six months later at the Texas State Championships as a yellow belt my instructor put me into the Black Belt Division and I ended up taking 2nd in the Black Belt Division losing to the current National Team Member. The rest of my competitive TaeKwonDo years I competed in the Black Belt division winning many tournaments, State Championships, Nationals Championships, US Open and Qualified for Olympic Trials in 2000. The last time I competed in TaeKwonDo was in 2003.

Coaching Philosophy:
Coaching means providing a fun and exciting experience for the kiddos. I absolutely love seeing their faces light up when they achieve a new skill – or wipe out! Life is not always perfect, but teaching kids that you can overcome your struggles is the most fulfilling aspect of coaching for me.

Competitive Background:

I started competing in gymnastics when I was 5 in level 4. In 2011, my family moved to Texas so I could train at WOGA Gymnastics. When I was 11, I had my first level 10 season. In 2014, I competed in the US Classics Elite competition. After the season, I was awarded the 2014 Junior Olympic Gymnast of the Year. I have competed in several dance competitions as well growing up.

Most Memorable Sports Moment:

My most memorable coaching moment was my first Trampoline and Tumbling competition. I grew up in artistic women’s gymnastics, so being able to experience another side of gymnastics was awesome. Transitioning to the T&T world last year was so much fun, and I enjoy learning different sides of the gymnastics world. I love the environment and energy of the competitions as they are very different from the competitions I grew up doing.

Coaching Philosophy:

In the realm of gymnastics, the myriad challenges—physical, mental, and emotional—create a profound opportunity for athletes to develop tools for overcoming adversity. The skills honed, rooted in discipline and resilience, extend beyond the mat to shape enduring character traits. Beyond the finite career within the sport, the tools and skills acquired in gymnastics endure, serving as guiding lights in life’s journey. Long after routines are retired, the indomitable spirit of a champion, cultivated in facing the highs and lows of competitions, persists. The philosophy of gymnastics transcends sport, offering a blueprint for lifelong success—a legacy of perseverance, discipline, and camaraderie.
